Lofoview is a simple, lightweight way to browse your local files—right in your browser. Think of it as an extension of your file explorer, but with a cleaner interface and a smoother experience. Your files stay offline and private, always.

One day, while sorting through media files, we realized that native file explorers weren’t cutting it. Browsers are powerful tools that everyone has—so we thought, what if we could browse files directly in the browser? And just like that, Lofoview was born.

Lofoview is built on theFileSystem API—a secure way to interact with your local files without ever uploading them. When you select a folder, we useshowDirectoryPickerto access it, then display your files in a clean, modern UI.

Therefore, unfortunately, Lofoview only works in browsers that support the FileSystem API. Currently, that includes Chrome, Edge, and Opera, but not Firefox and Safari.
